Its officially finals week and I couldn’t be more ready to be done. I just want to be home and experience the holiday season with my family. The 3 week break from school is an added bonus 🙂 It snowed this past weekend too, so that’s helping me get through studying, knowing that break is right around the corner.
Do you know someone that is obsessed with Christmas decor? If not, well now you do because that person is me. There is just something about Christmas decor that makes my heart so happy.
As soon as I got back to school from Thanksgiving break, I put on some Christmas music and went to town transforming our lodge into a Christmas wonderland. I hope you enjoy it as much as all of my suite mates and I do!
The first thing you see is this beautiful wreath on our door that I purchased from Gathered Mercantile in The Amsden (read about the grand opening of The Amsden here.)
As you step in, you can see the key organizer I made is all decked out!
One of the side tables:
This mini tree wrapped in burlap is from Queen Bee GiftsSome extra things I had: a candy cane, ornaments and pineconesThis beautiful mini lantern is also from Queen Bee GiftsThe mini bottle brush trees are from the Target dollar spot
The other side table:
A light up reindeer barn and a mini glass christmas tree figurineMy roommate’s grandma made this adorable little “snow globe”Since my roommate is in the army and she’s a nursing major, we had to put out the U.S. Army Field Hospital! Some more bottle brush trees and cinnamon scented pinecones from the Dollar Store
Now on to the coffee table!
Gotta have the letter board in theme too!Another mini “snow globe” my roommate’s grandma madeThis cute mini present is from Queen Bee GiftsA better view of the whole vignette
TV stand area:
Garland surrounding the tv with a stocking. I tried to make it look like a mantel with the stockings hanging below the tv.I absolutely LOVE this let it snow sign with the birch wood stand!! I got it from a craft bazaar at my school several weeks ago.A Precious Moments Christmas houseI’m obsessed with this Christmas pick from The Found Cottage in Hudsonville, MI! It’s perfectly flocked and has a glittery frostiness to it as well. If I had some birch wood logs in this metal bucket too, it would be the perfect touch!
Window area:
I added another garland here as well as some ornaments hanging from golden ribbonI made the wreath by taking an old metal coat hanger, shaping it into a circle and sliding ornaments on it and adding a bow! You can find the tutorial here.
The tree:
I love our little tree! It’s a 4 ft, fiber optic tree. I brought the tree skirt from home.We already have so many presents under the tree! Those two little Christmas birds were a white elephant gift.Another mini tree wrapped in burlap from Queen Bee Gifts on a wooden stoolI’m obsessed with this super cozy cable knit sweater pillow from the Magnolia Collection at Target!Another pillow from the Magnolia Collection. The wreath design is beautiful. Our lamp was begging to be decorated too, so I wrapped an extra garland around it.My roommate brought a GIANT stocking, so we hung it on the wall between two of the bedroomsI connected two strands of colored lights and hung them around the whole living room/kitchen area. You can’t decorate for Christmas without colored lights!
Well, believe it or not, that’s everything! It took several hours to deck the whole place out, but I loved every single minute of it. We have had many people over since and they have all commented about how cozy it feels.
It makes me sad to think I will have to take it all down soon. We don’t get very long to have Christmas decorations up at school, but I’m glad we got to enjoy it for three weeks.
Good luck to anyone who may be taking finals soon. I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday season full of rest, good company, and memories to last a lifetime!
